Xcel Energy's proposed substation is in the works, and here are the details:

• Location: The proposed substation will be situated at the northeast quadrant of the intersection of 65th Street (CSAH 37) and Jansen Avenue in Otsego. So, if you happen to be in that area, keep an eye out for it! 

• Purpose: This substation aims to serve both existing and future electric service needs in Otsego. It’s like the behind-the-scenes wizardry that keeps the lights on and gadgets humming. 

• Electric Transmission Line: There’s an existing Xcel Energy electric transmission line that runs parallel to 65th Street (CSAH 37) and crosses the southern portion of the subject property. The substation will connect to this line. Think of it as the substation’s hotline to power! 

Otsego’s getting a shiny new addition to its electric infrastructure! 

Particle Control, Inc. has submitted an application to develop a 38,400 square foot food

processing building with future 87,500 square foot warehouse expansion upon Lots 3 and 4,

Block 2 Otsego I-94 West Industrial Park 4th Addition. The proposed 14.08 acre development is

subject to site and building plan review in accordance with Section 11-9-3 of the Zoning

Ordinance. The developer is also requesting approval of a preliminary plat, final plat, and

vacation of existing drainage and utility easements combing the two existing lots as provided

for by the Subdivision Ordinance. 

New Revolution Gymnastics Facility Coming to Otsego

A new commercial development is planned near the TH 101 and CSAH 39 interchange in Otsego. The proposed building will include a new location for Revolution Gymnastics, an indoor gymnastics program serving Otsego and surrounding communities, along with additional space available for lease.

The property is currently zoned Institutional District because of its current ownership and use by Christ Church. As part of the proposed development, the property would be rezoned to Retail Business District (B-1), which allows indoor recreation businesses such as Revolution Gymnastics.

The development aligns with Otsego’s 2023 Comprehensive Plan, which identifies this area for future commercial development. The new facility will provide a recreation option for local families and is expected to bring additional activity to the surrounding business area.

Foss Swim School Coming to Otsego

A new Foss Swim School is planned for the Great River Centre area in Otsego (8555 Parson Ave NE
Otsego, MN 55330). The proposed development includes a 9,600-square-foot commercial swim school that will provide swimming lessons and programs for families in Otsego and surrounding communities.

The site plan also identifies space for a future 11,900-square-foot commercial building on the property.

The property is currently an outlot and is being platted as a buildable commercial lot as part of the development process. 

The project will add a new family-focused recreational business to Otsego’s growing commercial area.
