The University of New Mexico is a Public, 4-year University that offers a myriad of over 215 degrees, including masters, baccalaureate, and doctoral degrees. Known for their Carnegie R1 research program and diverse student population UNM has been a large attraction in New Mexico since its establishment in 1889.

New Mexico State University is a public research university located in Las Cruces, New Mexico. NMSU is New Mexico's oldest public university and is one of the two flagship Universities along with the University of New Mexico.

New Mexico Highlands University is a public university with its main campus located in Las Vegas, New Mexico. ENMU Roswell offers 150 online classes and its student to teacher ratio is very low, keeping the classes tight knit ergo, bringing the students closer to their professors.

Luna Community College is a two-year community college located at the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, which overlooks the city of Las Vegas, New Mexico. NMSU-Carlsbad is one of the other remote locations for New Mexico State University. NMSU-Carlsbad is similar to NM-State's other remote locations, a two year program offering associate's degrees. This remote location is in Carlsbad, New Mexico which is best known for the famous Carlsbad Caverns. Recently NMSU and it's location in Carlsbad came to an agreement to let Carlsbad become its own, independent college. The school is currently in its transition phase and is now coined Southeast New Mexio College.
